this will happen with every update

we will need to wait till, the plugins that are used on the server, get updated to work with the new version of minecraft

and there is no ETA on when that may happen
it may be a few days to a few weeks

there is also a forum topic saying to backup your jarfile to 1.1 if you still want to keep playing within the server while it gets updated
you still need minecraft 1.1 for funforfreedom server

im sure update will come soon

when does the server go back to public? i only really play on this server and cant seem to get on, is it whitelisted now?

It is currently on version 1.1 until all the proper updates are released. Please be patient or downgrade to 1.1.

If you updated your minecraft to 1.2 you can't get on.

I tried searching google for an answer, but couldn't find one.

Also, i did back-up my minecraft jar.

You need to downgrade BACK to your 1.1 jar until we can get the server updated.

1.2 will NOT work.

If you backed up a 1.2 JAR, it won't matter. If you backed-up a 1.1 JAR, however, just go into the .minecraft folder's Bin, delete the "minecraft" JAR from there, and copy your back-up into the folder. Then run Minecraft, and it should either ask you to update (in which you should say say if you want to play on 1.1) or it will bypass that altogether and just run the game on 1.1. Remember to COPY, not drag the back-up in, in case you accidently update, or need to update to 1.2 to do something.

Also, if you guys have any more questions about not being able to get on the server, it may be because you are on 1.2. If you got the same message as Knight of Hylia, you are running 1.2. You either must use a back-up for 1.1 or just wait out until the server is updated.

Thanks for the help, i can get on the server now. I thought it was something having to do with my hardware because when i tried searching for solutions, it was people complaining about hardware and when i looked at downgrading minecraft tutorials on youtube, they all showed server errors as "outdated", not the message i got.

According to Bertshet, the no mod rule is "zero tolerance for any reason." According to Wilco, mods such as Optifine and Minimap are okay, "as they do not give any real upgrades over others".

Wilco is the one who is right, what doesnt mean that Bert was wrong.

The rules about that have changed a bit. If you watch the date of the posts you will see that Berts post was way earlier and back then, we hadnt made the decision to allow optifine and minimap.

But please make sure to know, that these two are the only allowed mods for now! If you know another mod that you think is okay to be used, just ask before using it! But for now, have fun with minimap and Optifine
