As I suggested in the previous forums, a debating section in which mature topics are debated. (No debates regarding Minecraft, Consoles, etc.)
I'd like to see topics regarding religion, politics, etc. What I don't want to see is people posting an opinion with nothing supporting it or a reason to why they believe it. There should be no raging, trolling, baiting, and the like allowed. I always like to read and post in debates to see what I can learn from it. :3

I'm alittle scared of this topic. I mean, it may tear the community apart. We do have ALOT of people under 13 here. It may spoil the light heartedness of the community. If we're all mature enough to handle it however, its a great idea!

Perhaps a forum you must apply to gain entry to? To ensure only those with mature, level heads enter? That scares me though as I don't like making users feel alienated.

Well I think it could be good for us to debate but not to lock others who might have some good suggestions in out.

Maybe, as an entirely separately hosted forum? We can retain our names on that one so we know who everyone is. (This is becoming quite the debate itself!)

I haven't seen this tear apart the community before.
The idea of a separate forum is too much hassle for just this. Applying to gain entry doesn't sound too bad.

Maybe, if we know someone to be taking serious offense we can tell a moderator and they can PM the person about the forum? And if they seem to be causing a serious offense they can be asked to leave that section?

I think MC's idea would work out the best. Just a subforum you apply to gain entry to. I've seen other communities do it before and it works quite well.

I think using a password or something to get in would be another idea. I mean, people can obviously lie about if they're older than whatever the age limit is. Plenty of people do it. Just look at all the 10-year-olds playing God of War and Call of Duty out there.

I think a password-protected subforum talking about these more mature topics could merit some consideration, but unfortunately it's not fool proof. As SongOfStorms mentioned, anyone could lie about their age and join. Perhaps an "Enter at your own risk" warning might help. I like talking about politics, but from a personal standpoint, I don't think this is the right community for such topics.
